You know what’s fun about finding new breweries / brewpubs?
Being able to share their excellence with others who think like you do…you want to experience the true, blue (brew) essence of good beer, and all that goes with it.
Well Barreled Souls has found “it.”
Whatever “it” is, “it” is here.
Some 20-ish miles south of Portland, Maine…Barreled Souls is hard to find…(and for those of us who want to keep this gems hidden, please don’t try too hard!)…but once you do, you’ll be a convert.
The place looks like someone’s basement….perfect, right? And it is literally in the basement of the building. Maybe a dozen chairs. A bar that might be 10 feet long. Dark. No TV blasting a game. No music blaring. And a good, varied selection of brews from IPA to Barleywines.
And those barley wines?!!!! 13% Apple and Peach. A Scotch ale aged in rum barrels. Bottles available.
Cribbage boards on the over-turned barrel tables.
This is someone’s home and you’ve been invited.
Come in. Be a friend. Don’t be a hard-ass. Breathe. Drink. Enjoy. Relax.
And for God’s sake….don’t tell anyone else!!
