Committee room 10 in the Palace of Westminster was the venue for the Small Business, Enterprise & Em-ployment Bill Committee. Certainly not the archetypal smoke-filled room for such a gathering (not since the smoking ban in 2007 anyway) but nevertheless it was the setting for MPs to scrutinise the Government’s proposals for a statutory code and adjudicator.
